This 13th century temple is an architectural marvel and a symbol of India’s heritage.It is built in the form of a giant chariot of the sun God Surya and belived to be built by king Narasimhadeva I of eastern Ganaga Dynasty.It is famous for its architectural majesty and profusion sculptures.the entire temple is designed as a ornamented chariot with 24 elegantly carved wheels which denotes the 24ours of a day.Seven horses drag the temple.There are two giant lions, crushing the elephant guards the entrance. The entire temple is carved with beautiful erotic figures  and lots of intresting structures.This large structure of Konark we can see today is only the entrance of the main temple,the main temple which enshrined the deity has fallen off.Even in a ruined state it is a magnificient temple.The temple has also featured on various list of Seven Wonders of India and also a world Heritage site.Not only for the architectural beauty,Konark is also famous for the exotic beach with salient natural beauty.You will definitely enjoy the beauty of sea in amid natural beauty and peace.
